Jerry Weldon, has been performing around the world for 45+ years. His resume, a “Who’s Who in Jazz” includes the likes of Wynton Marsalis, Joey DeFrancesco, Jimmy Cobb and George Cables among hundreds of others. Jerry has played with Harry Connick, Jr.’s band since 1990 and was a regular on the HARRY TV show. Now, as all the great jazz ensemble leaders have done, the sax master has reached toward the future and assembled a sextet featuring some of the finest young musicians on the jazz scene today. Each one is already enjoying great success and they are heading toward stellar careers. This sextet is hip, swinging and in the vein of Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers…and clear evidence that the future of jazz is in very talented hands.
