Trio Next is composed of drummer Koleby Royston, pianist Ben Collins-Siegel, and bassist Ryoma Takenaga. All three are either current members or alumni of the New Jersey Youth Symphony Jazz Orchestra, a program of the Wharton Institute for the Performing Arts. Koleby, Ben and Ryoma all won Outstanding Soloist awards at the12th annual Charles Mingus Festival & High School Competition held February 14-17 this year at The School of Jazz and Contemporary Music at The New School in New York City as members of NJYS Jazz Orchestra.
